Designing the Unknown for the Unknown

It is quite a challenging task to strategize against something unknown. If the aim is protection against the something, at least then you will have an idea where to begin. But, suppose, for instance, you were asked to design for the unknown, 'What is the brief?', you'd ask, 'Make your own brief.', the authority replies, 'Oh! Okay.', you're puzzled.

So here you are on the blank sheet of paper, lingering. Hanging on a line for the bright idea to strike.
